Meet Matthew Cole M.W.M.Soc
Matthew has been working in the water hygiene industry for over 29 years, starting out in engineering before moving into site management, Legionella risk assessment and, more recently, technical compliance and management.
Over those years, he’s seen a lot of changes in the industry and has built up a wealth of practical experience along the way. It’s that experience that led him to set up Aegir Compliance in 2025.
The idea behind Aegir Compliance is pretty simple: to provide independent, impartial and practical Legionella risk assessments and consultancy, without making things more complicated than they need to be.
Matthew believes a good risk assessment should do more than sit in a filing cabinet. It should help people understand the risks, know what needs to be done and, most importantly, feel confident that they’re managing things properly and ensuring they are compliant with legal requirements.
Away from water hygiene, Matthew has also spent many years playing and coaching basketball – so he’s no stranger to teamwork, problem-solving and getting the best out of people!
